IKEA's best sellers: we put the whole list on price watch

IKEA publishes its own best-sellers list, the products "most frequently bought", by its own count. It's a fun page to browse. It's also a list of prices that millions of people are about to pay without knowing whether today's number is a good one.
So we did the obvious thing: we put the top of the list under tracking. Every product below is now a real tracked product in dipd, checked on schedule, building a price history from day one.
The list, as of today
The current top seven best sellers at IKEA (we pulled the list from IKEA Germany, so prices are in euros; more on that below):

Why put a best-seller list on price watch
Because IKEA prices move more than the flat-pack calm suggests. Browse the store and you'll see "New lower price" labels scattered through the catalog: IKEA's own way of saying that yesterday's price wasn't final. A label tells you a cut happened; only a history tells you what the price actually was last month, and whether today is the moment.
There's a second reason: IKEA prices are set per country. The same KURA bed carries a different number in Germany, Sweden or the US. That makes "is this a good price?" genuinely hard to answer by feel. It's why dipd tracks the exact store page you buy from, in its own currency, rather than some global average.
KURA: the €159 icon
The reversible kids' bed that half the internet has hacked into a bunk, a den or a boat. It tops the best-seller list, and it's exactly the kind of purchase worth waiting a dip for: nobody needs the bed this week.

What does a price tracker do with a one-euro water bottle? Watch it, obviously. It costs nothing to track, and it makes the point better than any big-ticket item: dipd doesn't care what a product costs. Paste the link, get the history.
What happens next
Nothing, and that's the feature. The checks run on schedule, the charts fill in, and the day a price actually drops, the alert goes out. Best-seller lists tell you what everyone buys; a price history tells you when to buy it.
